Life always amazes me when I embrace the unknown and have faith that what I'm venturing into is for the highest good for everyone.
Here's a picture of me with the ladies at my first Women's Group - Discussion Forum I held with the subject being 'Gratitude'.

Gratitude from Dr. Stephen Post at http://www.guideposts.com/story/power-gratitude:
1. Defends: Just 15 minutes a day focusing on the things you're grateful for will significantly increase your body's natural antibodies.
2. Sharpens: Naturally grateful people are more focused mentally and measurably less vulnerable to clinical depression.
3. Calms: A grateful state of mind induces a physiological state called resonance that's associated with healthier blood pressure and heart rate.
4. Strengthens: Caring for others is draining. But grateful caregivers are healthier and more capable than less grateful ones.
5. Heals: Recipients of donated organs who have the most grateful attitudes heal faster.

I leave you with a thought by Albert Clarke:
In our daily lives, we must see that it is not happiness that makes us grateful, but the gratefulness that makes us happy.
I read your blog and would be interested in you reading my blog and helping me. Don't get me wrong I have allot to be gratiful for but still struggling. Thanks for the boost.
ReplyDeleteSure I'd love to look at your blog. What's the address.
ReplyDeleteBarbara
Thank you, I would love if you would do that and if you could help keep in touch that would be great. I am at the end of my rope. I am seeing a physiatrist, back doctor, general doctor. But can't vision my life being like this, just looking for a little hope.
ReplyDeleteI posted something last night to your blog site? Did you see it?
ReplyDeleteAlso, please know you were in my healing prayers this morning and I know you will be better, I can feel it for you.
As I started the journey to get better, I was given a copy of "Our Daily Bread" which I read each morning and continue to read. This was something that took time to integrate into my life. So don't be hard on yourself, if you don't do it every day at the start. Change happens one step, one day, one year at a time. You can check out Our Daily Bread at http://www.rbc.org/odb/odb.shtml or order your free copy to be mailed to your house. This will help you a lot Christy.
As I reflect on your back, you know the back represents your support in life. And I'm going to guess you're probably a person who gives to so many and may not always look after yourself. Correct me if I'm wrong here.
Start by saying "No" to other peoples demands and begin to honour yourself by saying "Yes" to yourself.
From your email looks like you are already doing that which is great BRAVO; however, forgive me if I'm off track; however, in the end we are responsible for getting ourselves better the medical profession can help and support us.
Know that in recognizing and taking responsibility to get better you are in an exciting time for yourself! Celebrate that in yourself Christy. When you recognize there is a problem and take steps to change you are on the road to recovery. You know Christy, in every challenge there is a positive outcome from it. Look for that moment of gratefulness.
Let me know what you think of Our Daily Bread.
You know if you Ask, Believe, have faith, you will receive your answers. Be still, listen, trust and act on the inner voice that speaks to you.
Blessings....
